Mohan Bhagawat – The ‘Sonia Gandhi’ of the BJP

Ever since Mr. Bhagwat has become the RSS’ chief. He has been fond of talking about the BJP, he does not forget to tell the media personnel that RSS provides the idea (Vito) to the BJP when it is required. I am failed to understand that does really a party like BJP, who use to be known for the party of ideological minds, requires a consultation to run its organization. If indeed then the party should hire some best consultants to seek for the formal decision at least who can suggest better. The party which is at all time low on his ideological, organizational structure ground should have chosen better and much experienced leader to head the organization. At this time, Mr. Bhagwat ignited the fire of dissatisfaction under the party, by imposing a less experienced leader rather suggesting very tenured leader as its national president.

It was the high time to think and act for the 2nd direct defeat from the congress. It was evident that the congress government has not done so well through out the term as it showed the performance in the election. Despite it, the BJP lost the election! Therefore party had to discover the reason of defeat, which somehow might be related to the poor leadership, organizational, management skills etc. It was a golden opportunity to select unanimous and very affirmative leader to run the party. However, the party has lost the opportunity in this front too. Election of Mr. Gadkari tells that how the party is influenced by the RSS, which anyhow is not a good indication for a party like BJP, it seems to be that it has lost its autonomous status. The impression is evolving that the party has to seek for RSS for every important decision or does not mind its way until it receives a smack from the parental organization. Though it is also very important to know that why RSS became so aggressive in terms of interfering in the matter of party’s internal affairs. Probably, there was a big void of the national leadership felt by the RSS, who could be savior of the party. However, it is also extremely surprising that the party had to stick on Mr. Gadkari. Was it a poor succession strategy or any hidden agenda, future will let us know. It’s beyond the imagination of the common party worker that how can a person who never elected directly by the people, shown significantly poor performance in its state’s election, become a national head. This may lead a Paradigm shift towards the alternate of the party workers gradually.

How the party can forget a basic rule for choosing a leader that the leader is always remain the most important factor to lead a task or run the organization. Since it is lacking in the party, which has lost two consecutive elections, and on a contrary congress is heading towards an era of Indira Gandhi, when the whole oppositions remained as void for most of time. BJP is also loosing its credibility among the people. There may be a big debate that whether the congress government is doing well or not. However, no one should have any doubt that simultaneously congress is not leaving any effort to make the organization very sound in the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. It is merely seen that the party on the power, remains on ground on the organizational front. We can have the example of the NDA regime, when the organization was the least concerned subject. Congress is very much focus on the organization, Rahul himself overhauled the whole structure with paying visit to every significant state. Unfortunately the BJP also has the Youth phobia or consternated to see the growing popularity of Mr. Gandhi, which is why the BJP also has been in desperation for following the path of congress. It is not known that why the BJP has forgotten that congress has certain factors which are altogether different from the BJP. Somehow Gandhi family has such impact on the party worker and common people that even a servant of that family can be evolved as a unanimous leader for the party. This impression does not evolve in a day or night, this come from the legacies which started by J L Nehru, nurtured by Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi and strengthen by the sacrifice of the two prominent leaders. If congress tries to promote any outer leader than the Gandhi family and associates, it will find very hard to lead, remember the era of Sitaram Kesri.

In the time of leadership crisis, BJP could have elect a leader, who has mass appealing or common workers are already familiar with the name such as Arun jaitley, Shushma Swaraj, Yashwant Sinha are the leaders, doing the central politics from couple of decades and have vibrant respect and impact over the party workers. However, the present president has a tremendous line of senior MPs to him, which would lead towards a very difficult situation to place the discipline in the most undisciplined party ( for the time being as it has been projected). The above mentioned leaders are not only seniors but also a respectable image over the common man and other party’s worker. Mr Gadakari would require a lot of time to place the same kind of wave length across the nation. It also may be possible that he manages to do something but the task could have been much easier if there was a mass or prominent leader. And, he would have to struggle a lot to get the work done.

Its seems to be that BJP tried to appease the Maharashatra cadre’s leader or RSS to promote two leaders at the significant positions from the same state, unfortunately who have not been know for their proven contribution for the organization. Was it a resultant of the consideration of some of the leaders that promoting two leaders from the same state that it would strengthen the party in the respective state or any strategy instigated by Mr. Bhagwat is behind it? How the party can forget the example of U.P. where the BJP is taking the taste of ground and does not seem to turn around in next one decade at least. What can be the worst example of appeasement other than it.
It is indigestible to think that a seasoned leader like Mr. Bhagwat would make mistake to elect the leader like Mr. Gadkari. It’s a big question that putting aside all these factors, why Mr. Bhagwat imposed him. Does the BJP need a mask as a national leader, and decision would be taken by some hidden leaders? It is the matter of analysis that why is he so proactive to put undue interference and unwanted veto over the internal decision of the party matter or is there his personal strategy behind it. Is not it so that Mr. Bhagwat has some hidden agenda which he would like to fulfill through his pawn. If Mr. Bhagwat would like to be aspired the ‘Sonia Gandhi’ of the BJP and he has any such distorted plan, then I am confident to say that it would be an historical mistake, which would certainly swallow the whole party.
